Heart of the Forest Farm

Our Story

Our Story

Once upon a time, a blue-eyed boy married a girl with wild hair who ate things she found in the woods. He tried it too, & realizing it was good, they decided to find, eat & grow things together. They loved it as much as they loved each other, moved to the forest & started growing mushrooms in the garden. And then they just kept growing! ♡

Our Vision

Our Methods

Our Story

We believe that anyone who wants the benefits of mushrooms should be able to get them for a reasonable amount of money and/or effort.

Our goal is to work like the mushroom's mycelium, using the resources directly in our path. Taking the wisdom mushrooms offer to heart, we hope to colonize our neighboring communities with happy home chefs & growers.

Our Methods

Our Methods

In late 2023 we discontinued single use plastic bags and forever chemicals in search of truly planet friendly, accessible & affordable ways for ourselves & our customers to grow mushrooms.

New Hampshire's landscape, climate & abundant wood substrates offer perfect opportunities for innovations in gourmet mushroom production and we constantly experiment with new methods!
